Derek Anderson: Even Magic Johnson Wants Him Gone -- and Possibly Killed

Magic Johnson wants to kill Derek Anderson -- and we can't blame him.
If you think you want Arizona Cardinals quarterback Derek Anderson to disappear and never come back following his atrocious performance on Monday night (we sure as hell do), you probably should hear what Magic Johnson has to say about him -- he "would have killed him."

Johnson was on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and was asked about the Cards getting blown out by the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football this week. More specifically, Johnson was asked about Anderson's giggle-fest with lineman Deuce Lutui while down 18 points in the fourth quarter.

"I would have beat his butt or killed him," Johnson told Kimmel on the show.

Check out the video below.

Sports Illustrated's Peter King has already predicted that Anderson will not be on the team next year and says Coach Ken Whisenhunt should be "playing for 2011," when Anderson will be gone and rookie B and C squaders, Max Hall and John Skelton, will still be with the team.

King's take on the debacle that is Derek Anderson:

This has nothing to do with his postgame fit at logical questions from Arizona Republic beat man Kent Somers about why he was laughing on the sidelines in the fourth quarter of an embarrassing loss. It has to do with his play, which has been terrible. The Cardinals now are officially playing for 2011, which Anderson will have nothing to do with. Max Hall and John Skelton, the rookie quarterbacks backing up Anderson, will probably be on the team in 2011. They need to see all the time in the last 20 quarters of the season so Ken Whisenhunt can see which one will enter next season competing for the starting job with whoever Whisenhunt and GM Rod Graves import at the position.

But Whisenhunt seems to still be playing for 2010, and, as we found out yesterday, Anderson's still his guy.

Get ready for a long 20 quarters, Cards fans.
