Brother/Uncle of Murdered Phoenix Father and Son Eyed in Slayings
Christopher Licon, 19, the brother of Angel Jaquez, and uncle of Xavier Jaquez, who were each found shot to death earlier this week, was arrested yesterday on unrelated drug charges. However, police say he's a suspect in the murders, as well.
The court docs go on to say Licon is an "extreme risk to the public."
The elder Jaquez was found shot to death in his house at 2719 East Broadway Road in Phoenix on Monday night.
Xavier Jaquez was found shot to death Tuesday morning in an alley near his mother's home, near 65th Avenue and Indian School Road, by a City of Phoenix sanitation crew. The boy's mother and father shared custody of the child.
Angel Jaquez was found by his brother on a couch in a duplex at the above address on Monday night. He was shot once, police say. It's unclear whether the brother who discovered the body was Licon.
Both Licon and Jaquez were drug dealers. Jaquez's arrest history includes a September 20, incident, in which police responded to a burglary call at his duplex and found marijuana inside
Jaquez took a plea deal and admitted to drug possession with intent to sell. He was sentenced to two years probation.
Phoenix police say the family was "targeted." They say they're still actively investigating all leads, even though Licon is in custody.
