Quarterback Issues Continue to Plague Arizona Cardinals as Team Heads to Minnesota to Face Brett Favre and the Vikings
|It's make or break time for Cards QB Derek Anderson.|
Too bad for the Cards, quarterback is a pretty important position and they don't have one -- that can throw accurate passes, anyway.
Both undrafted rookie Max Hall and one-time Pro Bowler Derek Anderson are lousy, have been lousy, and will continue to be lousy. And this game of musical quarterbacks that Cards coach Ken Whisenhunt has played week-to-week for the majority of the season needs to come to an end -- and fast. In other words, pick the lesser of two evils and stick with it.
Whisenhunt announced earlier this week that Anderson would get the start Sunday against the Vikings, even though he blew the game on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The only reason he's getting the start over Hall is because he's the one who put the Cards in a position to win the game in the first place (before blowing it, of course), after Hall, who started the game, threw two interceptions that were returned for touchdowns.
Anderson's completed 83 of 155 passes this season. He's only thrown four touchdowns to his seven interceptions and he's been sacked 10 times. So, while we've given him the benefit of the doubt in the past, we're not expecting a whole lot on Sunday.
If Anderson blows this one, the Cardinals are officially out of options at the quarterback position and it's time to go back to the drawing board.
Kickoff is at 11 a.m. and the game will be aired on FOX 10. For more info click here.
