Cindy McCain's pro-LGBT crusade can't sit well with her lawmaker hubby
Props to Cindy McCain, the wife of Senator John McCain, for taking a stand against her lawmaker husband -- and his continued reluctance to allow gays to serve openly in the military -- by participating in a star-studded ad in support of the LGBT community.

The ad is for the group NOH8, a pro-LGBT group that supports gay marriage. In the ad, McCain, and some of Hollywood's elite, call for an end to bullying of gay students. They say, gay students have an increased likelihood of committing suicide when compared to their heterosexual counterparts, in part because they're bullied more often.

Cindy's portion of the ad, however, seems geared more towards a certain aging senator, and his hesitation to allow gays to serve openly in the military.

"Our political and religious leaders tell LGBT youth that they have no future," she says in the ad. "They can't serve our country openly."

She continues by saying "our government treats the LGBT community as second-class citizens."

John McCain hasn't said he opposes lifting "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," but has been the lead voice in convincing lawmakers to wait until the Defense Department could review the ridiculous policy before getting rid of it all together.

It hasn't played well with the LGBT community.

Check out the ad below -- should make for some interesting dinner conversation at the McCain household.
