Terry Goddard Tells Jan Brewer to Give Campaign Manager the Boot After Gay Remarks

Since the moment Governor Jan Brewer's campaign manager suggested that her opponent in the gubernatorial election, Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard, was gay, Goddard has insisted that he's not (insert standard "not that there's anything wrong with that" comment here).

During a no-holds-barred exchange between the candidates last night in Tucson, Goddard took it a step further and called on Jan to fire her campaign manager, Chuck Coughlin, for hinting that Goddard might be a little gaybo.

"You got to get rid of Chuck," Goddard told Jan. "I think Jan Brewer should be ashamed of having her campaign manager, and therefore her campaign, involved in trying to change the subject so blatantly, trying to get off of talking about what matters to Arizona."

Goddard should cut her some slack -- Jan's campaign hasn't been completely focused on outing her opponent with claims that he might be gay -- we can recall at least one instance where she talked about all the times she "have did what's right for Arizona."

In case you missed one of the more entertaining days in Arizona politics in recent memory (Brewer's epic meltdown during the gubernatorial debate being the most entertaining, of course), we'll help catch you up.

On Tuesday, former New Times reporter John Dougherty posted something on his Facebook wall saying he'd heard rumors that Brewer was ill and might not be able to complete a four-year term.

Brewer's campaign responded to the rumor by saying Jan was healthy as an ox with a raspy cigarette voice and that Goddard was gay.

It was a great day for Arizona politics.

OK, even if Terry is gay, like that's something unusual in Phx., who he chooses to spend the evening with is his business. Jan Brewer is ready to cash in her chips ? Well, that might be news, but for that fact that we've had a county sheriff on life support for some time now. Let's rent Terry a condo down on 3rd. & Thomas. Then let Brewer ride her hater platform to gubernatorial victory. We put "Do not resuscitate" notices at St. Joseph's Hospital for Brewer and Arpaio both, and just let nature take it's course.

Power corrupts. It's time for Coughlin and Tyne to go. We need a different Arizona if this state is to have any decent future at all.

Brewer allows this type of defamation within state agencies.

Brewer has her campaign manager throw out accusations and all she does is laugh. She is definitely sick. That's not all. Some of her appointed directors are just as bad. Another one to get rid of is Kevin Tyne. He really is beind it all. His humor and filthy mouth are the cause.

It's time to clean house in the Governor's office and flip the switch. This former Republican will vote for Goddard. The Republican party left me a long time ago.

And I think it is a shame that the GOP has left so many of the members of its party behind to pander to the nutso members of the party. We need the moderates in the GOP to help bring the country out of this economic recession. I've heard quite a few republicans say that there is no longer any place in the GOP for them.

Chuck Coughlin should be fired. If Brewer wins, then Goddard should sue Coughlin and Brewer for defamation!

Coughlin as campaign manager, top aide, joined at the hip with the Governor as well as well as the CCA (Corrections Corporation of America) private prison interest -- should be enough to get him fired. Folks if you vote in Brewer, you do it at your own peril. You heard it here. This is as bad as it gets besides the questionable shootings at the border still raising red flags. What politicos will do for a vote is disgusting!

Her campaign is in trouble and they all know it. Each day that goes by she does more damage to herself. Smart thing would be to go on a training trip to Honduras for a couple weeks. I hear they have a government there who would like to partner with Arizona as they did with MCSO.
