Rodney Glassman's Latest Campaign Video is Embarrassing to Watch; Complete With Rodney Singing Arizona Version of "Sweet Home Alabama" and Dancing Like Forrest Gump

We thought John McCain's "Danged Fence" ad was the worst campaign video we'd ever seen. Then we saw this
U.S. Senate candidate Rodney Glassman should stick to arid-land-resource sciences because any hopes of a singing career -- or a career in the Senate, for that matter -- were probably damaged beyond repair by his latest cringe-worthy campaign video.

It was a regular WTF moment this morning when we got an e-mail with a link to Rodney's new video, in which he sings "Sweet Home Alabama" with an awful Arizona twist -- all while dancing like your standard out-of-touch white guy who makes his nieces and nephews uncomfortable at weddings.

It's like a car wreck -- you just can't look away.

Check out the video after the jump.

Earlier this year we ranked the five lamest campaign ads of the 2010 election. Because of recent developments, we'd like to modify our list.

In our previous rankings, Glassman's opponent, Senator John McCain, took top honors for his "danged fence" ad. The level of cheesiness was ghastly. Check it out here.

Congressional candidate Ben Quayle took the number-two spot for his infamous ad where he looks directly into the camera and says "Barack Obama is the worst president in history." Say what you will about Obama, but saying it while staring directly into a camera just creeps people out.

Both McCain and Quayle are now officially off the hook for their awful ads -- Glassman's raised the bar when it comes to lame campaign videos, and he's made it clear that it's unfair to compare professionals with amateurs. That's why our list has been modified. It's actually not even a list anymore -- just a declaration: Rodney Glassman is responsible for the lamest campaign video of the 2010 election.

Glassman is the worst possible news ever for this state's Democrats. His video is a joke, his vague answers are annoying. Does he ever READ anything??? Or do ANY research on his own? He has been giving the same answers for months and months and months. Most of the state still has no clue as to who he is because he is too cheap to spend money on ads. Last Sunday on Channel 12 in Phoenix, the moderator asked him about signage in Maricopa County and Glassman basically told the guy he was blind. Uh, where are the signs, Rodney? Add this to all the staff that has left because of his lying and verbal abuse, and well, you have one piss-poor candidate. There is no doubt McCain will kill him on Nov. 2. Hopefully Tucson will not have to endure a mayoral run from this jerk.

Parraz, Eden, and Dougherty have to be wondering how they lost to this tool.

What a moron. He'll fit right in with all the other Democrat idiots in the Senate. Fortunately for Arizona McCain will kick his butt on Nov 2. We already have a moron in the White House. We don't need another village idiot in DC.

Poor man, he really ought to see a neurologist about that undiagnosed palsy. I'm guessing that a treatment regime involving Baclofen, Dantrolene, or one of the anticholinergics would do wonders...

I agree, probably wins the award for WORST video in the election season, but Quayle's "worst president" is a very close second. This one reminds me of the old Rose Ann Arnold video where she butchered the national anthem at a baseball game. I know that smell-o-vision doesn't exist, but something really stinks.

Certainly not helping stereotypes of white guys and dancing.....San Xavier del Bac is one of the most gorgeous structures in this state...I'm contemplating legal action...he's forever stained the memories I have of that mission.

I've heard politicians sing much worse... Pretty much the only nice thing I can say about this.

This might have been an asset on YouTube, but as a campaign video it's a painful melt down. Is his campaign manager a Republican? Or did he just give up, and say to heck with it, I'm going to enjoy myself?

one does NOT kill the songs of Eagles , one does NOT kill the songs of the CCR , one does NOT kill the songs of Skynard !! if one can not do a good job of the song, just do not do it at all...he not only killed the song , but he should be bared from ever trying to do another song for his life time ,

HOWEVER the points made about MC BUSH , cannot be disputed .

but between the two , would rqather take a bad singer , over a bad crook and a waffle flipper who only lines his pockets with big corperate monies ,. and cares not for the citizens .

Rodney . please no more microphones in your hands please in such a manor of trying to sing ., a mike in your hands should be used only in the means of takeing the MBBUSH out to be trimed back and out of congress .

Time, money and volunteers. Rodney got in it far earlier. He had money lined up for primary campaign expenses. He had PAID volunteers. He spend at least $8/vote. Dougherty spent less than $2/vote.We learned valuable lessons that will make the next go round more effective.
