Maricopa County Supervisor Fulton Brock Responds to Allegations That Wife Molested Teen

Maricopa County Supervisor Fulton Brock
Before
our previous post about allegations that the wife of Maricopa County Supervisor Fulton Brock carried out a sexual relationship with a teenage boy, we contacted Brock's office for comment. Brock wasn't available but we were told we'd receive his statement this afternoon.

A few minutes ago, Brock's spokesman, Jason Rose, sent us the supervisor's prepared reaction to his wife's arrest.

To Brock's credit, the statement isn't a proclamation of his wife's innocence. Brock says he's stunned by the allegations and goes on to say, "You think you know someone after 28 years [of marriage], and I need answers as much as police officers do."

Brock, a devout Mormon and family-values fanatic, even touches on his faith while trying to make sense of his wife's alleged sexcipades.

Check out Brock's complete statement after the jump.
"My life and that of my family's was upended last night. Police officers arrested my wife of twenty-eight years and the mother of our three children. She was informed that she was being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year old. Even with this statement I am not sure how to express what such a shocking emotional punch to your heart and family feels like. I am stunned. My children are flabbergasted. You think you know someone after 28 years and I need answers as much as police officers do. I want so much to believe these allegations are not true, but if they are, I am appalled and crushed. I am a religious man. I ask all to pray for our family and those involved so that justice may best be served."

Hey, where's the "family values" in this? Moms and young adult daughter were banging a boy allegedly starting back when he was 13 and went on a trip with them to California.

As far as we know, they weren't involving the girl's other two siblings or Fulton. What's the LDS position on that? Aren't they into sharing resources?

I am appalled!

... also the real damage to this lad is going to come years later when he realizes the damage he's done to a harmless lady and her family... by being a snitch over something so literally f-ing trivial ... pity being the stud n all ... that he couldnt somehow have the balls to tell poppa enuff w/ the spying & gimme the godamn phone back.

.. what a largely bunch of stupid comments ... why do th emodern puritans get so riled up by good ole natural sex? She did what middleage females have done for millenia ... taught a young MAN not a child the ways of sex ... & for that you freedom loving conservative creeps would give her life. You make me so sick I find myself praying (jajaja) for an asteroid to hurry up & put you back in your preffered fossil mode. So what happened to the DPS wife who was boinking the young man at Apache Lake a few years back? Bet counseling was good enough for them.I wish just once somebody busted in these non-victim crimes would stand up and yell shut the fuck up before they are marched off to the christian love & reeducation camps ...One would think even the most dim amongst us might see there needs to be a clear distinction between consensual sex w/ a human beyond puberty and a biological child.

I've dealt with Mormons. Some are very trustworthy and I'd trust them to hold 50 oz of gold if I had it. Others are very slimy and worse than used car salesmen. It's a myth that 100% of mormons are honest. I think this is a setup of his wife and that she is innocent.

When I first saw the headline, I thought to myself "What is Arpaio doing now?" I was assuming that this is another of the stunts that MCSO pulls against political enemies. It is nothing of the sort, but my impression was a result of conditioning to where I am inclined to not give MCSO the benefit of the doubt. MCSO was apparently not even involved in this situation.

Regardless of what I think about Fulton Brock as my elected BoS supervisor, I am saddened for him and his family. There are two sides to every story, but I am afraid that Ms. Brock has quite a hill to climb in this case. It will be interesting to see her defense if she indeed fights the charges in trial.

This is a profound tragedy for the Brock family that now puts them in the Pandora's Box of sex crimes with children occupied by the sickest and most depraved human beings in society. The broad brush of laws written during a moral panic have now brushed the Brock family into this box also occupied by many falsely accused men, women and children.

As for Maricopa County's jails, I hope Ms. Brock won't have to sleep on the concrete floor without a blanket like so many other women have had to endure in Arpaio's jails. Or have to go to the bathroom while men look through the glass and watch. This is just the beginning of her journey through hell in Arizona. The law makers and policy wonks have created this hell for "others" never thinking it would ever include one of their own.

Once one of their own get taken down, maybe this will finally get the attention of the lawmakers about what is fair justice. Hope this is the beginning for bringing about change in Arizona's draconian sentencing laws where first offenders, non-violent, non-sexual touching over clothing in Maricopa County (swimming pool situation) = 75 years in prison. Based on that case, Mrs. Brock would be looking at 300 years -- where 200 years for 20 porn images is not considered cruel and unusual punishment in Arizona. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

This is a wake-up call for all those who have turned a blind eye to the "tough on crime", "write a law to gain the vote" politicos, who are self-serving and could care less about who gets executed or incarcerated for decades, while they "move-on" and up, retire and get their pensions.

In the rush to judgment, Mrs. Brock is innocent until proven guilty but then who in Maricopa County follows established protocol much less the Constitution?

Where's the "dangerous crimes against children" in the charges? And the sex offender for life if convicted? Children taken away and more.

Does anyone here actually think that his wife isn't getting special protective treatment by Arpaio? Don't kid yourself - Shurf Joke knows which side his bread is buttered and he's not going to risk having a blind supporter like Brock have his eyes opened to having his wife endure the horrors that he has tacitly approved of.

I see that the 'New Times' continues to attract the regular readership of the true dregs of society.

My condolences Brock to you and your family. You and they deserved better than to have your family upended by your wife's (likely) ridiculous and seriously illegal conduct. And I don't believe I've ever heard a more honest public response to such a crappy situation. Don't worry that the village dregs here respond like the two year olds they are.

I hope your family gets through this as well as a family can...

Sounds like he and Jason Rose set this up so Fulton can get a divorce and still look good to the public.

Wow, what a bunch of jerks all of you posters are! Who cares what religion anyone is.. No one deserves anything like that! Jesus taught to "Love one another" in John 13: 34-35.. These comments are not very nice.

Well Fulton, time to resign from the BOS, as such a good religious man needs to take care of his screwy wife it seems! It will be interesting to see who replaces you!

Karma is a bitch, and you earned it with your blind support of Arpaio all these years! Now the wifey is in his goolog! Bet she's getting some there too!

I was feeling bad for Mr. Brock until I saw the fact that he's using that Arpaio/Hayworth douchebag Jason Rose as his "spokesman". Does that pic of his wife describe the phrase "deer in the headlights" perfectly?

I think Brock's statement is as heart-felt as I can imagine anyone in his situation making. I know some people are giggling with glee over these events, but that just indicates how perverse this culture of "gotcha" has changed our state for the worse. People need to knock off the slanders and jokes and imagine what he must be going through. He is a religious man and I, for one, respect him for it and am willing to give him the room to deal with this awful situation.

So much for family values eh? I guess you can preach about this and that and yet have something like that happening under your own roof? 4 years of illicit relationship? Jeez, what kind of family values person doesn't know what's going on in his house for a 4 year lenght? Married for some other motive other than actual marriage?

I am expecting to hear the Tiger defense strategy presented in this case. Don't be surprised if she checks into a treatment facility in Tucson dealing with 'Cougar Condition and Addiction'. In any case, it's indeed a sad situation and she has victimized many people by her poor choice of actions.

Interesting. Especially since this very article hit the Arizona Central site before it was posted on New Times. And you make it your task to save others from being forced by a free publication to read the thoughts and opinions of others. What a guy you are.

Nicely said, Cooper. I agree completely, and I don't personally care for Mr. Brock based on his actions and in-actions as a member of the Board of Supervisors. But, Mr. Brock doesn't seem to have been involved in this criminal activity so there is no value in victimizing him and his family any more than his wife of 28 years apparently has.

What's wrong with having (or standing for) these values? That's not preachy, but rather a statement of who you believe yourself to be. Nuttin wrong wit dat.

You sound about as dumb as Dixie Rocker. As far as you know, he had nothing to do with it. But I'm sure you'll twist it some way where you conclude that he did or should have.

And maybe you also need to learn how to read. It's pretty easy to determine that I made a distinction between him and his family versus his wife.

You might want to put the bottle of Jack down.

'It attracted me to see...' Big fucking deal. There were few google links at the time.

I decided to comment because it was clear that the Net Times regulars were already out using a shitty and criminal situation as a platform for humor. Like it's funny.

Don't agree. This is pure and simple Karma. He gave Arpaio a free pass all this years, and now his wife is locked up in MCSO jails.

Divorce may well be the least of your "family values" problems, Mr. Brock.
