Conflicting Poll Numbers For AG's Race Prompt "Thank You" to Republicans From Arizona Dems

As always, we take all polls with a grain of salt. And two polls -- one released by the Arizona Republican Party, and one released by the Republican candidate for Attorney General, Tom Horne -- are part of the reason why.

The Arizona Democratic Party feels it owes the GOP a "big 'thank you'" for pointing out the tremendous gains Horne's Democratic opponent, Felecia Rotelilni, has made in the six days between the time Horne's campaign released poll results on the race and when the GOP released the results of its own poll.

In Horne's poll, conducted by the Wilson Research Center earlier this month, the GOP candidate touted his 18-point lead over Rotellini -- 53 to 35 percent.

Horne boasted that he had increased his lead substantially since a similar poll was conducted a month earlier, which gave him an 8-point lead in the race..

"My message of securing the border, defending S.B. 1070 against the Obama legal assault, protecting consumers, and creating a positive legal climate for job creation is resonating very well with Arizonans," Horne bragged at the time.

Six days later, the Arizona Republican Party released its own poll, which puts Horne's lead at 9 percent -- half the lead Horne trumpeted in his press release.

According to that poll, Horne only leads Rotellini 46 to 37 percent.

"If the Republicans show Felecia gaining nine points in six days, at this rate she's a shoo-in for attorney general," says Luis Heredia, Arizona Democratic Party executive director.

We wouldn't say Rotellini's necessarily a shoo-in -- rather, we'd just say polls are often bullshit.

Horne stood up to activist judges on the Flores case when Goddard wouldn't and has the guts to say the crap in TUSD is Marxist, ant-American propaganda. Sounds like a real record not the Rotellini history of being a paper pushing, no experience, self-promoting never-was, morphed into a "tough prosecutor" scenario cooked up to run a campaign.

AZ 1948 sounds suspiciously like a regular azcentral blogger who's flushed his legitimate legal career down the drain to be a toady for Tom Horne. My mama told me that you're know by the company you keep. By that measure, Rotellini is the one. She's wrapped up an incredibly impressive collection of endorsements from people who can't be fooled -- despite the nonsense propagrated by the Hornies.

We all know that the Dems are targeting the Attorney Generals race because this is the only race they believe they can win. Tom Horne is a 100 times more qualified then Felecia and has over 30 years experince of practicing law unlike Felecia who has a track record of receiving a paycheck from the government for 17 years for doing absolutly NOTHING.

Man I feel like a broken record, but I just can never get over the fact that SB 1070 alone, and "defending" AZ from Obama & the feds is what people think is POPULAR, IN MY HOME STATE. It just blows my mind. I'm a native of Arizona. I lean pretty far to the left, SB 1070 is disgusting, and antithetical to the very essence of Arizona, and I am GLAD that Obama and the feds, including our LAST ELECTED GOVERNOR are protecting us from these redneck, racist INVADERS from OUTSIDE Arizona.

I get tired of California laughing when they gave us Jan Brewer, Massachusetts laughing when they gave us Joe Arpaio...the list goes on and on and on. There truly is a NEW Arizona and an OLD Arizona. And I'm from the old AZ. And that's the nice way of putting it. Another way of putting it is that I'm from the REAL Arizona. People who have spent the majority of their lives here. I'm not from the fake "I moved here from Chicago and I hate it and I'm moving to Dallas in 2 years" Arizona.

I HATE that people who aren't from here get to represent people who are. FUCK SB 1070, fuck these wacko, redneck republicans and their primitive, outdated ideas and attitudes. That is NOT what Arizona is about.
