Props to Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Max Hall.

As we told you yesterday, Hall was one of five nominees in the running for the NFL's Rookie of the Week honors. Today, we found out Hall won.

The award comes after Hall's mediocre-at-best performance against the Super Bowl-champion New Orleans Saints. It was his first start in the NFL, and while he wasn't flawless, he was tough as nails.

The Cardinals' first touchdown in last week's game was the direct result of Hall's toughness -- and his butterfingers.

Hall's quick, and thought he'd be able to sneak the ball into the end zone from about five yards out.

It was ballsy, considering there was a 300-plus-pound defensive lineman standing in his way.

Hall got absolutely crushed before reaching the goal, causing him to fumble. Thankfully, offensive tackle Levi Brown recovered the fumble and took the ball the remaining two yards into the end zone.

Hall completed 17 of 27 passes, earning him the unimpressive QB rating of 65.0.

But he was good when it mattered -- he hooked up with wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald seven times, something previous starter Derek Anderson had a tough time doing -- and he played tough. Which might have something to do with his being considered for rookie of the week.

Other rookies nominated were Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham, Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Williams, and Tennessee Titans cornerback Alterraun Verner.

Unfortunately, you won't have a chance to see the NFL's rookie of the week in action until next weekend. The Cardinals have a much-needed bye-week this week. Injured wide receivers Steve Breaston and Early Doucet are expected to return to action Sunday, October 24 against the much-improved Seahawks in Seattle,

wow...he got Rookie of the Week for that?? A fumble, no offensive TDs, a QB rating of 65. Where do I get in line? I'd like one of those awards too!

I can't recall anyone getting this award who's done so little. Wanna bet he got his ass ripped by Wisenhunt for taking the hits that he did? The fumble for the TD could to either way, there's no skill involved there.

Did the others in contention actually have a "better" game than he did?
