Rookie QB Max Hall.
Despite not throwing a touchdown, despite not handing the ball off to someone who scored a touchdown, and despite throwing an interception in the first drive of his first game as an NFL starter, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Max Hall has been nominated to be the NFL's rookie of the week.

As we pointed out in our assessment of the game, Hall didn't play all that well in his first start against the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Hall completed 17 of 27 passes, earning him the unimpressive QB rating of 65.0.

But he was good when it mattered -- he hooked up with wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald seven times, something previous starter Derek Anderson had a tough time doing -- and he was tough as hell, which might have something to do with his being considered for rookie of the week.

Other rookies nominated are Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham, Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Williams, and Tennessee Titans cornerback Alterraun Verner.
