Josh Bernstein Leaving ABC-15; "Investigative" Journalist Carried Water for Arpaio, Thomas

• Josh Bernstein continually engaged in questionable activities in his time at ABC-15 in Phoenix, such as accessing information of non-relevant persons illegally. His bosses ripped him because he was incompetent and botched not only the matters listed here, but was lacking in other realistic reporting duties. I wonder how many people whose lives this so-called "liberal" reporting douche-bag, were hung out to dry wrongfully because of his incompetence and incorrect conclusions and disappointing investigative journalism. I wonder how the committee members of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences feel about giving Emmy awards to someone who made so many mistakes and engaged in border-line (if not truly illegal) actions to "investigate" individuals...way to go. Why don't we get this idiot a damn Pulitzer while we're at it! Does anyone know who was actually foolish enough to hire this half-wit?

• Wonder why he wasn't order to investigate the biggest abuser of border States; the Federal Government.

• LOW LIFE with a crappy Faux Hawk is he running for corporation commission. Public air waves run by mad men.

• Maybe he is worried that the DOJ will see him as a resource of Arpaio & Thomas who was used to create mass deception. Maybe his main source was Henderschott and his source is done

• Nope. I don't think any of us(news junkies) were aware of Bernstein's being "critical" of the KKKorrupt Sheriff. I wouldn't exactly say he was a less favorable reporter. In fact, Arpayaso and Co. were pretty much seen as "heros" through the lens of ABC15. And that was disappointing. Very disappointing. I hope ABC15 will find someone qualified enough to be very very "critical" of Sheriff APE-Hole. For the rogue law dawg deserves no positive attention for his mafia-like organized crime syndicate.

• I don't really dislike a lot of the media folks out there. He's the exception. I'm glad the station has finally washed their hands of this simpleton. All that education gone to waste...

At yesterday's presentation of The Laramie Project, 10 years later, it was divulged that 20/20 went to Laramie (I believe in 2004 – years after the case was over) to do a story on the murder and decided to change the ending to the story. To portray Matthew Shepard as a druggie who just happened to be gay therefore the motive for the crime was a robbery and a drug deal gone bad – not a hate crime. They NEVER EVEN READ THE COURT TRANSCRIPTS OR MURDER"S CONFESSIONS. They presented their story the way they chose to with no regard to the facts of the case and now several people in Laramie and throughout the USA believe the motive was a robbery from a drug deal gone bad. This slanders the victim. This also takes away from the cold hard fact that it was a hate crime. That Matthew was an innocent victim and was killed in a plot hatched in a bar bathroom because he was gay. It had nothing to do with drugs or with robbery. Both of the murderers confess to this day he was killed because he was gay in interviews with the Laramie Project writers. This is 20/20 – Elizabeth Vargas – news we have been thought would be accurately portrayed! Everyone should be outraged! And 20/20 has never apologized. So you are never protected. You may NEVER hear the truth. Thank you, Jody for bringing this to our attention. It is time that the media was held accountable for the garbage they print. They are cowards in the truest sense.

• Great article! Reporters like Josh have blood on their hands also. How many innocent people have been destroyed during the arpaio/thomas reign of terror on the community. When the media takes the information from the MCSO and MCAO while ignoring the people, then they too are a major part of the problem that escalated to pure abuse of power and violation of peoples' right that have led to what will be millions upon millions of $$$'s lawsuits, which has broken the state of Arizona. Josh, you too, have helped ruin what was once a fine state.
