Arizona is getting a $39.2 million federal grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce to improve the state's Internet broadband infrastructure reports.

It's part of the fed's stimulus program.

The money is going to GovNET Inc., a Scottsdale-based company that will use the money to improve broadband access across the state with an emphasis on improving government services.

Goody. Soon we'll be able to watch those riveting three-hour long City Council meetings without any annoying buffering delays.

Governor Jan Brewer said the project will create jobs, improve Internet access in rural areas and, of course, help solve ongoing border issues, according to the Associated Press .

How, exactly?

Brewer said it would allow for "direct communication channels between multiple law enforcement agencies with the potential to improve interoperability issues along the border."
