ABC World News Covers the Tale of the Pinal County Deputy Who Claims He Got Shot by Drug Smugglers

Categories: Media, Schmedia
In case you missed it, ABC World News -- like several other national news outlets -- picked up on New Times' cover story this week, "Pinalcchio."

We watched as a camera crew interviewed the story's author, Paul Rubin, for about a half-hour outside of our downtown Phoenix offices.

Excited to see our colleague on the national news, we tuned in to the show's broadcast last night only to find that he wasn't included. But the piece that anchor Diane Sawyer introduced was right on.

Check out the video after the jump.

ABC did show the cover of this week's issue depicting Pinal County sheriff's Deputy Louie Puroll as a law-enforcement Pinocchio.

In ABC's written story that accompanied the video online, the network was more generous, giving New Times credit for breaking the story and quoting Rubin.

Check it out here.

This is off topic from the other comments but you touch film izle upon it in your post… Concerning E and J, have you considered individual therapy for them? It is really

important that they are able to process, in an emotionally healthy way, these huge life bombs that have been thrown their way. I’m glad to hear that E has a cousin he

can relate to but the great thing with therapists is that they can be completely impartial. hd film izle E and J would be

able to say anything to a therapist, things they might not want to admit to anyone within the family. Addiction is a family disease, so as great as it is to have

familial support, it is equally filmini izle important to have outside, unbiased support as well. E and J may want to check out Alateen as well, where they can meet others their

age who have been through the same thing.

A little love is better than nothing at all. At least this way the NT staffs doesn't have to wonder anymore what it might be like to get recognition from a national talking head.

This sure has the Babeu/Flaccid Fool gang in turmoil. I'm amused by some of their comments, "How dare you question a law enforcement agency?". Yada, yada, yada...

I think all the pressure may eventually force Babeu to reconsider his stance on Puroll. This may just be the beginning. And if the facts don't support Puroll's account. Which seems to be case, obviously. Babeu may have dug himself a grave, in terms of his career being at stake here.

This E-mail came form our old buddy "Immigration Enforcer," who asked that his E-mail address not be released. It doesn't have the overall tone of the regular "Immigration Enforcer," so there are probably many using the E-mail account.

The E-mail:

"So what? DIANE "Dred Out Pussy" SAWYER and ABC make a fleeting reference to New Times, and KING gets a hard-on like he does for HORSES? Also, who gives a crap about what SAWYER and ABC say or write anyway?

Whether PUROL almost got slam-dunked by dope smugglers or not, this type of violence happens all the time in Arizona and at the border. It could very well have happened. If not, we support the proper reprimand for PUROL, maybe a good drop kick in the COJONES and punch in the face."

ABC, nationally is nothing like the local station. Especially when Bernstien was there. Regards,Truth

Hey, did I just read right. The ABC story quotes Babeu as saying that he is re-opening the investigation not because he doesn't believe Puroll, but because he wants to exonerate him -- what kind of investigation is that where your only focus is to find evidence to back-up your deputy's story? Shouldn't an investigation be impartial with the aim of finding the truth may the heavens fall? What a sham!
