Guy Robs Tempe Bank With Note; $5,000 Reward Offered

​Today is a day that ends in the word "day," which tends to mean one thing here in the Valley: police need help finding someone who robbed a bank.

As Valley crooks have proven recently, there's no shortage of banks in the Valley and no shortage of people willing to risk a few years of their lives by robbing one.

The latest suspect cops are trying to track down robbed a bank in Tempe last week, before speeding away on a motorcycle.

According to the Tempe Police Department, the suspect, described as a white male in his mid-20s, walked into the Desert Schools Federal Credit Union at 1245 East Broadway Road in Tempe.

The suspect waited in line before handing a teller a demand note asking for cash.

The suspect didn't show a weapon, and no threat was made, but the teller handed over the cash.

After robbing the bank with a piece of paper, the suspect left the bank and hopped on a black sport motorcycle. He left heading east through the bank parking lot.

Witnesses describe the suspect as 5-feet-7, 160 pounds, with a brown goatee and short brown hair. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a plain, dark baseball hate, mirrored sunglasses with orange or pink frames, and a brown polo shirt with horizontal, orange stripes over a long-sleeve, white t-shirt.

The suspect also has a tattoo on the back of his neck and may have tattoos on his forearms.

Desert Schools is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the robber.
