Morning Poll: Will J.D. Hayworth Suspend his Campaign Before the August Primary?
| Senate hopeful J.D. Hayworth |
In the last seven days, both Owen "Buz" Mills and state Treasurer Dean Martin have bailed on their gubernatorial primary campaigns probably because Governor Jan Brewer, the new, Republican it-girl, has become so popular among the GOP, beating her in a primary seemed nearly impossible.
The latest GOPer having trouble in the polls: Senate hopeful J.D. Hayworth.
A poll released yesterday shows that Hayworth now trails Senator John McCain by 45 points -- a big jump from the last poll where McCain's lead was 11 percent.
The boost for McCain probably comes from Hayworth's pimping of "free government money" in an infomercial -- all the while running under the flag of "consistent conservative."
Will Hayworth's infomercial stardom sink his campaign before the primary? Will Hayworth be the next GOPer opposing an incumbent in a primary to ditch his campaign before voters go to the polls?
Let us know what you think -- and see the results of yesterday's poll -- below.
Yesterday's poll question: Will You Try and Get a Weed Prescription Even if You Don't Need it?
- 30.6 percent say of course.
- 27.8 say no.
- 41.7 say you'd be crazy not to.
