Could Edwin Jackson be the next player shipped out of town?
The Arizona Diamondbacks, sporting a not-so-stellar 37-62 record, are clearly sellers at the trade deadline this season.

While Dan Haren was shipped off to the Angels yesterday, is another D-Backs pitcher could be on the move.

This time it's Edwin Jackson who has piqued the interest of the Washington Nationals.

As the July 31 trade deadline inches closer, more rumors are starting to fly about who will end up where. Some are just plain laughable while others have some merit.

We think the "Mr. Jackson Goes to Washington" scenario has a pretty good chance of happening.

FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal says the D-Backs "will not hesitate" to trade Jackson. Meanwhile, ESPN's Buster Olney said the Nationals are upping their prospects to possibly get Jackson.

While the Nationals aren't the only team in the running to land Jackson, the following proposed three-team deal does make sense:

The Nationals would get Jackson while the Chicago White Sox would get current Nationals (and former Snakes) slugger Adam Dunn. Meanwhile, the D-Backs would get a bevy of pitching prospects.

Jackson, most known for his no-hitter earlier this season, is 6-9 with a 5.01 ERA this season. He isn't a top-of-the-line starter at age 26, but he could definitely help Washington as a middle-of-the-rotation starter.

Besides, the Nationals already have their ace. Some guy named Stephen Strasburg? Maybe you've heard of him?

The word around baseball is that Snakes interim General Manager Jerry Dipoto failed with the Haren trade (count us among those who agree).

While Jackson certainly is no Haren, this could be another chance for the D-Backs to stock up on young arms for the future.

This trade probably won't get done immediately, as the three teams have to figure out little details and which pitchers to send to the D-Backs, but it is a definite possibility that it could happen soon.

The Washington Nationals begin a four-game series against Arizona Monday, two days after the trade deadline.

Which jersey will Edwin Jackson be wearing?
