Sir Charles shows no love for the Cardinals
Although he was highly successful during his stint with the Phoenix Suns,Charles Barkley's heart apparently lies elsewhere.

At least when it comes to the gridiron.

Speaking to an NBC affiliate in Washington over the weekend, Barkley announced that he is now a follower of the Washington Redskins.

Well, Sir Charles is actually a big fan of Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb, who was traded to the team from Philadelphia this offseason. Apparently Barkley sides with McNabb because of the way he's been treated by the media.

Barkley's name came up a few weeks ago in connection with the Suns' open General Manager job, which hasn't amounted to a damn thing. He said back then that he loves Phoenix but that obviously doesn't include the Cards.

Anyway, here's what Barkley had to say:

"I'm a Washington Redskins fan now, because y'all have never treated Donovan the way he deserved, with the respect and credit he deserved.....I'm pulling for the Washington Redskins from now on. And I asked Donovan, I want a Donovan McNabb Redskins jersey, too....

"Donovan McNabb is my guy. That guy's been a great player and a great person in Philadelphia sports. I understand trades is part of the business, I just wish he had gotten the credit and respect that he deserved there. Yes, I'm pulling for the Washington Redskins....Not only that, I'm gonna wear a Redskins jersey to Lincoln Financial Field. And I hope it's snowing, and we can make snowballs, and I can throw 'em right back at em, too. I can't wait. I can't wait to come. I'm gonna wear my Donovan McNabb jersey."

McNabb, who is a top tier signal-caller in the league, probably is best known for allegedly throwing up on the field in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl in 2005.

Barkley is also well-known, whether it be from saying he's not a role model for kids, his NBA playing days, or his recent DUI in Scottsdale to his colorful remarks as an analyst on TNT.

But his interests don't lie in Arizona when it comes to football.

Do the Coyotes and Diamondbacks still have a chance for a soft spot in Barkley's heart?

And let's hope they make a McNabb jersey big enough for Chuck.
