One of the Arizona Department of Corrections' repeat customers apparently found himself on the wrong end of a shank over the weekend. He died last night from what DOC officials are calling "puncture wounds."

DOC spokesman Barrett Marson tells New Times 26-year-old Dana Seawright was found in his cell at the Stiner Unit of the state prison Lewis complex in Buckeye over the weekend with puncture wounds on his body.

The thrice-incarcerated Seawright was taken to the Maricopa Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

We asked Marson if Seawright was "beefing" with any of the other inmates in the prison and if there were any suspects. All he would say is that the matter is "under investigation."

At the ripe, old age of 26, Seawright was completing his third stint as a guest of the state. His latest bid: a 12-year stretch for a dangerous drug violation and unlawful use of means of transport in Maricopa County.

We asked Marson if the weapon used to do the deed was recovered by corrections officers -- however, that, too, is "under investigation."

Stay tuned, though -- we just spoke to Marson again and he tells us he's getting ready to release some info on another inmate-related incident at an Arizona prison.

In the meantime, check out every shanking from season two of the HBO prison drama Oz below.
