If you know this guy, call the cops.
Well, the sun came up yesterday, which seems to mean one thing lately here in Sand Land: somebody robbed a bank -- or at least tried to.

For those in the news biz, you've probably noticed lately that about once a day a cop from some Valley city wants your help in finding someone who robbed a bank. Today's no exception.

The latest bank: the Comerica Bank at 2800 North 44th Street in Phoenix.

According to Phoenix police Detective Mike Fischer, an unidentified suspect entered the bank yesterday about 12:50 p.m.

The suspect asked an employee about bank services and was led to an office to chat.

Once in the office, the suspect gave the bank employee a demand note asking for cash. Not the best move considering most banks tend to store money in vaults and locked drawers, not the offices of bank employees.

The employee explained this to the failed robber and when he realized he wasn't getting any cash, he took off, running out of the bank and to a waiting small-framed bicycle and rode away.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 25-35 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7, 180-200 pounds, with brown eyes and a light complexion.

Police say he was wearing a light-tan polo shirt with horizontal stripes and a black tee-shirt underneath, dark dress pants, black shoes, and was carrying a blue shopping bag.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
