Another Valley Bank Robber Uses Bandages as Possible Disguise During Heist

There's a new bank robber on the loose who bares a striking resemblance to one of our favorite, horribly-named bank-robbing "bandits."

You may recall the "First-Aid Bandit," later re-named the "Band-Aid Bandit," who was arrested in January after a string of robberies stretching from Gilbert to Queen Creek.

The FBI's bandit-naming department gave 43-year-old Samuel Cresante the lame-o moniker because at each of the robberies he was seen with cuts and scrapes all over his face, and at some robberies, he was wearing gauze bandages on his face -- sometimes with blood seeping through.

The FBI told us at the time that the bandages and cuts may not even be real and were likely just be some terrible attempt at a disguise.

As stupid a disguise as Cresante's gauze may have been, there may be a copy cat on the loose who's using his m.o.

Scottsdale police say an unidentified man robbed the Northern Trust Bank near Pinnacle Peak Road and Pima Road on Tuesday and he's still on the loose.

Scottsdale police Officer Dave Pubins tells New Times he's not sure if the suspect was using the bandages as a disguise but says he did have some cuts accompanying the bandages on his face at the time of the robbery.

Here's a description of the suspect: White male wearing a dark baseball cap wearing a long-sleeve, button-up shirt, jean shorts, and bandages on his face.

Check out a surveillance photo of the robbery above.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
