Robbery Victim Steals Suspect's Car Keys During Getaway Attempt; Then He Got Beat Up
Phoenix Police Department Police say this man is still on the loose after robbing a man at a Circle K last week.
The suspects, however, took the time to pose for a surveillance-camera photo shoot before the robbery -- check out their mugs after the jump.
Phoenix police Detective Mike Fischer tells New Times that about 4 p.m. Thursday, the victim walked out of the Circle K at 4252 South 48th Street when he was approached by three men who followed him out of the store.
One of the men asked the victim for a cigarette, so the victim -- who, for some reason unknown to Fischer, keeps his cigarettes in his wallet -- pulled out his billfold, gave the suspect a cigarette, and then got robbed.
The victim wasn't going down without a fight and followed the men to the car and managed to reach through the window and pull the keys out of the ignition.
Then he got beat up.
Fischer says the beating wasn't too serious, but the thugs got away with the wallet.
Police identified and arrested one of the men, 22-year-old Donte Villanueva, but the other two (pictured) managed to escape.
