The self-proclaimed "consistent conservative."
J.D. Hayworth's campaign is in trouble.

Yesterday, Hayworth was forced to admit that his starring in an infomercial for a now-bankrupt company promising to teach customers how to get their hands on "free government money" was "a mistake."

That may be an understatement because word that the self-proclaimed "consistent conservative" was dishin' out free government cash has some political analysts like Glenn Beck and Larry Sabato, director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia, saying this may be the straw that broke the Hayworth campaign's back.

Beck even officially declared that Hayworth's campaign "is over."

Primary day is still two months away so there's plenty of time for Hayworth to claw his way back, but Hayworth's infomercial stardom may be too much for voters to put up with.

We want to know what you think: Is J.D. Hayworth's campaign over?

Vote -- and see the results of yesterday's poll -- below.

Yesterday's poll question: Who's the Better Infomercial Pitchman: J.D. Hayworth or Vince the Slap Chop Guy?

-7.4 percent say J.D. Hayworth.

-11.1 percent say Vince the Slap Chop Guy.

-81.5 percent say not sure, but Vince would probably make a better senator.
