Arizona D-Backs Win a Wild One Despite Another Chad Qualls Relief Nightmare
The most dramatic moment in baseball has got to be a walk-off homer, and Chris Young of the Arizona Diamondbacks did just that on Sunday afternoon, blasting a 411-foot bomb to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 7-5 at Chase Field.

But, damn, it never seems to come easy for this team.
Arizona took a 3-0 lead into the top of the seventh when Cardinals' first-baseman Luis Pujols--one of the best hitters we've ever had the privilege of watching--doubled to deep left, scoring two runs.
The D-Backs answered with two runs of their own in their half and went into the ninth with a normally (speaking globally) safe three-run "cushion."
Enter Chad "Oh, No!" Qualls, he of an earned-run average approaching double figures.
Boom. Error by Qualls. Boom. Boom.
Showers.
In comes Esmerling Vasquez, who also has been frightening at times for we locals (remember his balk in Los Angeles to end the game against the Dodgers a few weeks ago?).
Wild pitch.
Game tied.
Unbelievable--or not.
That Young hit his second homer of the game to save the day for the D-Backs was a sweet way to end the weekend, but....
Arizona moves to 26-38 on the season.
