D-Backs Lose Tenth Straight and Third Consecutive in Walk-Off Fashion Against the Dodgers

The D-backs ruined Edwin Jackson's bang-up pitching performance.

Wow. This team freaking sucks.

Today, the Arizona Diamondbacks lost its tenth in a row as the Los Angeles Dodgers scored its third consecutive walk-off win against the D-backs. In the 14th inning, Garrett Anderson singled home Matt Kemp, who was the first and only runner to reach third base all game, to give L.A. a 1-0 victory.

That's right. Another 1-0 extra-inning loss for the Diamondbacks.

If you're keeping score at home, Arizona couldn't chalk up one bloody run in 31 consecutive innings against Dodger pitching. AZ also lost all nine of its games on the road trip.

Beyond pathetic.

There were some bright spots. Starting pitcher Edwin Jackson was outstanding as he hurled nine shutout innings of three-hit ball during his 123-pitch effort. The bullpen even picked up its game, as three relievers combined for four-and-two-thirds scoreless frames before Anderson's liner barely eluded Chris Young's diving attempt of a circus catch.

Overall, this game was bo-ring. Barely anyone reached base (17 runners combined for both squads) and there wasn't much strategy, aside from most hitters on each team trying to jack one out of the park during each AB.

Next up for Arizona is a day off on Thursday (that means they can't lose!) followed by a three-game series at Chase Field against the Colorado Rockies. That set starts with a 6:40 p.m. first pitch on Friday; Ian Kennedy of the D-backs is scheduled to face the Rockies' Aaron Cook. More info: www.dbacks.com.
