Dr. Galen Johnson is the second Valley doctor in less than a week to be accused of sexually abusing a patient.
For the second time in less than a week, a Valley doctor has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing one of his patients.

While it's not the same doctor at the center of last week's allegations, the circumstances -- as far as we can tell -- are fairly similar.

Phoenix police say Dr. Galen Johnson, a 54-year-old OB-GYN at the Estrella Women's Health Center, was arrested today stemming from an incident in May when police say he assaulted and sexually abused a 28-year-old patient.

According to police, on the afternoon of May 18, the victim
reported that Johnson physically assaulted and sexually abused
her.

Phoenix police Sergeant Trent Crump tells New Times that police
aren't releasing many details at about the assault at the moment
but says "this is not a case of he-said, she-said -- we're very
comfortable with the charges."

Crump was sure to give us the legal definition of assault when we asked
if the incident was violent, and from the sound of it, Johnson didn't
violently attack the victim but touched her inappropriately, which is
assault under the law.

Johnson's been charged with one count of sexual abuse and one count of
assault. After his arrest this afternoon, he was taken to a Maricopa
County jail.

County Superior Court spokesman Vincent Funari says he'll have
the police report for us in the morning, so check back to Valley Fever tomorrow to get the rest of the details.

How dare you say the poor girl liked it! You weren't in that room so you don't know what happened! I too was a victim & that is why I switched doctors.....I guess its people like you who think its okay for women to be raped & sexually abused...I guess just because he's a doctor you're saying its not possible! You should be ashamed of saying that a sexually abused victim liked it!

I'm barely seeing the articles of what happened to Dr. Johnson & I too was a victim of his abuse....that is why I switched doctors! I'm not looking for money, but hopefully he gets what he deserves! All these people are quick to jump to his defense, but yet they weren't the victims of what he's done!
