Former Alaska governor, vice presidential candidate, and darling of the conservative movement, Sarah Palin, will be in Phoenix later this month, but this time it's not to stump for her former running-mate, John McCain, it's to speak out for the environment.

Drill, baby, drill! Ay?

Palin will be here on May 15 to give the keynote speech at the Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife Conservation's Second Annual Heritage Banquet.

The group is basically a bunch of hunters who want to preserve wildlife so they can one day kill it.

Palin, an avid hunter and wife of a world-class "snow-machine" racer, will share her views on environmental conservation and protection to the who's-who of Arizona's hunting community.

"There is perhaps no one better to talk about the important role sportsmen play in the conservation of Arizona's wildlife and to serve as a role model for women and families to participate in our wildlife conservation effort" says banquet chairman Pete Cimellaro. "In her time in public life, Sarah Palin has elevated the perception of hunting, fishing, and conservation and shown how important they are for millions of Americans."

Palin has spent a lot of time in Arizona since running for vice-president.

In November, the Palin-ator made a stop in Tempe for a book signing, and was in the Valley again in March to stump for Senator John McCain.

Palin recently took aim at Arizona after the federal healthcare bill was passed in March.

In response to the bill, Palin created a Congressional hit-list that included three of Arizona's five Democratic congressmen.

The event will be held at the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa. Tickets will run you $150. For more information, or to purchase tickets, click here.
