Morning Poll -- Jan Brewer and Photo Radar: Political Opportunism?

• Goddamn it Governor Jan, don't you know that illegal Mexicans are always speeding on our roads because, as YOU said, they are all drug smugglers working fior the cartels. Shoot 'em all, Governor J., lick the beaner problem in the butt. Oops, I meant nip in the bud.

• <p>The beginning of July everyone will start cruising at 85+mph again. Trust, the cameras did their job.</p>

• <p>No longer will it spot speeders. Now it will take pictures of drivers and passengers with brown skin.</p> <p>HEY, THAT WAS MY IDEA !</p>

• <p>Brewer is doing what every other politician is doing, talking out of both sides of her mouth, telling the voters what they want to hear, and doing whatever it takes to continue feeding off the government troth at the expense of the tax payers.</p> <p>She is no different than any of the others, once elected, it will go back to business as usual and fuck the tax payers.</p>

• <p>They haven't eliminated photo radar. They have just reprogrammed it. No longer will it spot speeders. Now it will take pictures of drivers and passengers with brown skin.</p>

• <p>I think that Brewer is wrong to take the cameras down- she was wrong before when she said it and she is wrong now. They keep the freeways safer and reduce accidents. </p>

• <p>Personally I like the photo radar thing in concept, anyhow. I think we need more red light cameras, and more parking enforcement, too. I swear that since moving here I have seen more flagrant disregard for traffic laws than anywhere else I've ever lived. Seems like we could be generating some easy revenue for the depleted coffers of the state and local governments here as well as making the place safer.</p>

• <p>@Times Reader: That's the point. If you read the linked article, it points out that this is something Brewer has been against since even before she took office. There's no reason she couldn't have announced that the state wouldn't renew the contract a year ago -- rather, she waited until she is in the midst of a primary.</p>

• <p>This November remember to support the voter initiative to make photo-radar cameras ILLEGAL statewide. No more photo-radar in any city or county.</p>

• <p>Last year Brewer said she wanted to get rid of PhotoRadar. The problem was the amount of money it would cost the state to cancel the photoradar companys contract.</p> <p>She stated back then that it would be best to just let the contract run out. That is what is happening now. Calling it political opportunism is total disregard of the facts involved.</p> <p>Of course, it's your paper and can print whatever you want regardless of whether it is factual, truthful or untruthful. </p>
