Continuing his attack on former Congressman J.D. Hayworth's pork-filled Congressional record, Senator John McCain released an ad today pointing out some of the more-ridiculous programs Hayworth supported during his time in Congress.

In an ad McCain released about two weeks ago, we learned about Hayworth's support of -- among other things -- a $233 million bridge, $5.8 million for a snowmobile trail, and $3 million for dust-control on Alaskan highways.

That, apparently, was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to wasteful spending Hayworth's supported.

McCain's new ad features five other laughable programs that Hayworth backed while in Congress.

Hayworth, according to McCain, supported spending $220,000 to renovate Blueberry Hill Farm in Maine in 2003, $250,000 to control seaweed accumulation in Maui in 2001, and $300,000 for manure management systems in South Carolina in 2000.

If that's not enough to get your blood boiling, Hayworth also supported spending $3 Million for a planetarium in Chicago in 1999, and $300,000 to map the genes of chickens in Michigan.
