Frying-Pan Assault: Yavapai County Woman, 54, Allegedly Beats Crap Out of Boyfriend

According to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, 54-year-old Janet Beekman and her 53-year-old boyfriend got into a bit of a spat over "relationship issues" on Tuesday about 1:30 in the afternoon.
In the middle of arguing, Beekman, started packing her stuff to move out of the house she shared with the victim when things took a violent turn, police say.
At this point in the story you may be thinking, "Northern Arizona...middle of the day on a Tuesday...alcohol was probably involved, right?"
You would be correct.
According to police, Beekman, who later admitted to drinking before the incident, then dumped a beer on the victim's head and started beating him in the face and head with a frying pan.
The victim tried to use his cell phone to call for help, but Beekman grabbed it from his hand and broke it in half, police say.
The victim was able to escape the attack and run to a neighbor's house, where he called police.
Cops say Beekman admitted she had been drinking and to assaulting the victim.
This isn't Beekman's first scrape with the law -- police say Beekman has several prior convictions for similar, violent charges, which is why prosecutors recommended slamming her with a felony.
Beekman was arrested and booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on a felony charge of interfering with judicial proceedings, as well as charges of assault per domestic violence, criminal damage per domestic violence, and disorderly conduct.
The victim suffered injuries to his head and arms but refused medical attention.
