Wig Bandit Leader Sentenced to More Than a Century in Prison

Julio Cesar Feliciano, Jr., 46, was sentenced to 106 years in federal prison this morning for his role in what police believe were 15 Valley bank robberies in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale, and Avondale in 2008.
Feliciano got pinched in August 2008 as he and three accomplices attempted to rob a Bank of America in Avondale after a Phoenix police task force had been set up to go after the thieves.
Feliciano was found guilty in November of last year of five counts of armed bank robbery, four counts of use of a firearm during a crime of violence, conspiracy to commit armed bank robbery, and use of a firearm during a crime of violence.
Several of Feliciano's wigged cronies already have been sentenced in the case, including 19-year-old Marco Antonio Serrano, a Mexican citizen living in Phoenix, who authorities say used a loaded handgun during the robberies. Serrano was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison.
