Three teenage boys are suspects in a string of Mesa fires. Fire crews responded to six blazes within an hour on Sunday, including one inside a vacant home. The teens, two age 13 and one age 17, were questioned for several hours and booked into the Southeast Juvenile Facility in Mesa on suspicion of offenses ranging from arson to possession of drug paraphernalia...Two members of Congress are proposing a less-obtrusive way to build Loop 202 between Chandler to Laveen. The current plan calls for the removal of three mountain ridges, a church, several apartment complexes, and 184 houses. Congressmen Peter DeFazio and Harry Mitchell would like to move the South Mountain corridor to tribal land, saying the tribe and ADOT could work together on a less-destructive route...Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested nine illegal immigrants over the weekend, and fingerprint checks revealed seven of the nine are registered sex offenders. One man from Mexico had been charged in Delaware with "solicitation of a child under age 16 to engage in a prohibited sexual act." Agents also arrested an illegal immigrant from El Salvador who had been convicted of attempted murder...

Fingerprint analysis proved some illegal immigrants apprehended over the weekend are registered sex offenders.
Andre Leteve, the Scottsdale man accused of fatally shooting his two young sons, is out of the hospital and in jail. Leteve, 39, was reportedly distraught over his impending divorce. He's currently in a wheelchair and wearing bandages from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He faces two counts of murder...A man and his dog survived a 125-foot fall over a Sedona cliff. Victor Weitz' 1980s model Toyota went over the cliff, and he and his dog jumped out shortly before. Weitz has some broken bones and possibly a punctured lung, but he and his dog are expected to make full recoveries...Scottsdale police have identified two teens found dead inside a truck as Jesse Andrus and Michael Hillman, both of Roswell, New Mexico. Both 18-year-olds appear to have died from accidental carbon-monoxide poisoning. They were found inside the camper portion of the truck, parked near a Safeway grocery store in Scottsdale.
