An East Valley real estate broker has been indicted for tax evasion. Sue Janice Taylor, who has residences in several Arizona cities, was charged with four counts of tax evasion for not reporting more than a million dollars in income from her real estate business, National Landbank. Taylor is scheduled to be arraigned April 14...A woman is in critical condition after falling from the second story balcony of a Hooters restaurant in Tempe. A spokesman for the Tempe Police Department said the fall occurred around 7 p.m. Wednesday night, and appeared to be accidental...Governor Jan Brewer has appointed Lauren Kingry to become the next superintendent of the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions. Kingry was formerly the CEO of Valley Capital Bank, taken over by federal officials in December. Some people have voiced opposition to Kingry's appointment, but he's expected to receive approval from the full state Senate within the next few days...

A woman and at least one teenager were shot Wednesday night in Phoenix. According to police, an incident began at an apartment complex near 12th Street and Northern, and the woman and a teenage boy were shot. A teenage girl was also injured, but it's not clear how. Police are investigating the shooting but have not released information on what led to the incident...A pickup truck rear-ended a Legacy Charter School bus in Mesa on Wednesday afternoon. The bus was dropping a student off near Brown and Greenfield when it was rear-ended. Seventeen kids and one adult were on the bus; they were treated for minor injuries and released. Mesa police are investigating the accident...A carjacking Wednesday afternoon led Phoenix police to a possible chop-shop. A woman with a tracking device in her new SUV told police the vehicle had been stolen, and officers tracked the SUV to an apparent junkyard off Broadway Road and Central Avenue. Police arrested three men for possession of the stolen vehicle and are now investigating the location.
