​A bill that would allow retailers to sell alcoholic beverages at 6 a.m. on Sundays received preliminary Senate approval Thursday. If the bill passes, alcohol sales on Sunday would begin four hours earlier than they do now. An analysis by budget staffers states that the new bill would generate more than $430,000 a year in tax revenues. The bill requires final Senate and House approval before it is sent to Governor Jan Brewer...The Department of Public Safety arrested 30 suspected illegal immigrants in two traffic stops along Interstate10 early this morning. The first, near Ray Road in Chandler, yielded 14 people including the smuggler. The second stop, near Baseline Road, resulted in the detainment of 15 to 20 suspected illegal immigrants at Arizona Mills Mall.

​A Kingman woman was arrested yesterday after her children were found wandering the streets while she was passed out at home. Angela Marie Smith, 26, was arrested for child neglect and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found a pipe with marijuana residue in her bedroom, and one in her purse...The divorce attorney for the wife of the Scottsdale man who shot and killed his two young children says there were "no visible signs" he was unstable. Andre Leteve, 39, is accused of fatally shooting his two sons on Wednesday. The attorney for his estranged wife, Laurie Leteve, says the divorce was amicable and the couple had agreed to share custody...More than 10,000 Easter eggs have been hidden on Schnepf Farms for a Saturday egg hunt. The event starts at 9 a.m., and is free for adults (the fee for children is $25, and they must pre-register).
