​The Arizona Legislature advanced an abortion bill yesterday, while delaying a concealed-weapons bill. The abortion measure, which requires final passage before moving to the Senate, would require healthcare personnel who treat women with complications from abortions to submit a report to the state. The House delayed consideration of another bill, HB 2347, which would allow people to carry concealed weapons without permits...A petroleum products company in Parker has been fined $55,000 by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. The LiquidTitan refinery produces gasoline and fuels, and the ADQ says, over a four-year period, the company had numerous air-quality violations. The company has reportedly spent $900,000 since 2006 trying to comply with the environmental regulations...Killer bees attacked four people in north Phoenix Thursday night, leaving two women in critical condition. The two women were each stung more than 100 times, until onlookers started spraying them with a fire extinguisher. The fire department later destroyed the hive...

​A man was shot to death early this morning in Avondale. According to police, the 28-year-old victim was getting gas for his pickup truck at a Chevron station near 107th Avenue and Indian School Road when he got into an argument with three men, who opened fire. Police have released little information on the suspects, aside from describing the vehicle as a white Nissan Maxima...Two Valley teenagers were taken to the hospital Thursday night after "car surfing" in a west Phoenix neighborhood. Police say a 16-year-old was driving a car with two teens on the hood when the teenagers fell off into the street. The victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and the driver may face charges... Fourteen rail cars on a westbound freight train derailed Thursday morning near Bellemont. The train originated in Alabama and was carrying mostly coiled steel. No one was injured, and no hazardous waste was spilled, but railroad officials and Coconino County sheriff's officers were investigating.
