Maricopa County elections officials are launching a new program to track ballot boxes with GPS. The goal is to be able to track all 17,000 pieces of voting equipment in the Valley. The program will be tested in March during school district elections, and is expected to be fully ready for the elections in May...A firearms maker in Gilbert has pleaded guilty to illegally selling handguns, rifles, and shotguns. Shawn Nealon of Calvary Arms Corp. admitted he sold more than 40 weapons to an out-of-state buyer and has surrendered his federal firearms licenses. Nealon faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he's sentenced in April...The Phoenix Suns defeated the Sacramento Kings 104-88 Sunday night. The victory marks the Suns' eighth win in 10 games, and the second consecutive game where they held their opponents to less than 90 points (on Friday night, the suddenly defensive-minded Suns beat the Atlanta Hawks 88-80). Their next game is tomorrow night, against the surging Oklahoma City Thunder...

NHRA driver Antron Brown lost control of his car in an accident that killed a spectator.
A spectator was killed Sunday at the National Hod Rod Association (NHRA) nationals at Firebird International Raceway in the Gila Indian River Community. Driver Antron Brown lost control of his car, and a rear tire blew out and flew into the stands, striking a female spectator. The name of the woman, who died after he was airlifted to Good Samaritan Medical Center, has not been released...Johnathan Krieger, the Apache Junction high school teacher accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a 16-year-old, was in a local band with several teenagers. Krieger apparently sang for the band, called Tiger Eyes, which describes its music as "Chinese traditional hard-core rap." On his MySpace page, Krieger says the band gave him the opportunity to grow closer to his students...Four Phoenix men will get to be "SWAT cops for a day" after making a significant donation to the East Valley Boys & Girls Club's "Bid for Kids" fundraiser. The four men are from a non-profit organization called Chandler Compadres. As part of their winning package, they'll spend a day with the Phoenix SWAT team, learning firearms and tactical training and working with police K-9s.
