Pinal County Sheriff to Lead Protest Against Speed Cameras Tomorrow

• <p>Hello? Of course this is all about money! The state needs it. You people have your panties all in a wad because you were “lied” to?!? So if the State came out and said “We’re doing this purely for the revenue” it would have been ok? For God sakes, grow up. <br /> We are about to have a ton of essential services either eliminated or drastically reduced. Police, Fire and Emergency personnel are being reduced as well as teachers. Besides, with more photoradar cameras up on the freeways (and one at every stop light if I had my way) the police wouldn’t be wasting their time pulling over speeders. They could focus their efforts on more important things, like catching criminals.<br /> The freeways are much safer now, just look around, everyone is doing the speed limit and traffic is flowing quite nicely. Even during rush hour, it moves faster than it did without photoradar.<br /> The way I see it, this is another tax on peoples bad habits. If it’s good for the smokers/drinkers, then it’s good for the speeders too. Don’t want to pay it? Quit speeding and you won’t have to pay up!<br /> </p>

The City of Phoenix council members should be carried out into the street and tar and feathered for taxing groceries. There is a video on you tube of a mother with her baby in her hands pleading that they not pass the grocery tax.</p> <p>There will be a referendum circulated to end the food tax. Wow, not bad considering Babue also forgot to mention Pinal county's population EXPLODED during that same time period, and also the roads in and out were never improved to make up for it! But once the cameras go away, the traffic will flow better, the streets might be safer with a few more cops on the road, and by pulling over more speeders, cops may find more than one violation. Cameras allow criminals to slip on by. Cameras don't take dangerous drivers off the road. Cameras don't help stranded motorists. Cameras don't ticket and remove intoxicated drivers. Cameras don't prevent accidents. They just take pictures of them. The photo enforcement system is a blatant violation of our constitutional rights. The companies that own them are for $$$profit$$$ so there's nothing stopping them from cheating so they'll gain more revenue. Need I say more?</p>

The only thing you didn't mention is the question we always have in Arizona -- WHO ELSE made money off this scheme, where a few profit at the expense of the people of Arizona?</p> <p>How about kick-backs and special favors? Who did Redflex contribute to?
