"The maverick" is in a conservative showdown with former Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth, so perhaps an appearance on America's most "fair and balanced" network wouldn't hurt.
Van Susteren and her surgically enhanced stiff upper lip, will probably lob up a few conservative softballs for Arizona's senior senator to crush out of the park, but we're anxious to see McCain's rationale for his stance on the president's proposal to end the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
Yesterday, McCain argued that the policy had been effective and expressed disappointment that Defense Secretary Robert Gates was calling for a study on the best way to end the policy.
McCain says the study is biased because it implies that the policy should be changed.
Umm, no shit, John. That's the point.
