Drunk-Driving Suspect Causes Head-On Collision, Kills Man; Unrestrained Infant Hospitalized

Geo Trackers are too damned small.
A Tracker Vs. pickup collision figured into an article published in New Times last September, with the Tracker occupants coming out much worse.
Now, in a similar -- but even more tragic -- vehicular mismatch, a suspected drunk driver in a 1980 full-size Chevy pickup crossed the center-line while going west on Van Buren Street at about 57th Avenue, slamming head-first into a Tracker.
The male driver of the smaller vehicle, who police still haven't identified, flew out of the Tracker and died at the scene.
Shawn Marie Tsinhnahijinnie, 36, survived the wreck and was later found to have a .190 BAC, court records show.
Having recovered slightly from her injuries, she was booked into jail on February 12 and charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault.
The Gila River Community member, who's unemployed and lives in Laveen, is not only a horrendous driver with a history of failing to stop at red lights, blowing off fines, and not buckling up kids in her car, she's a major contender for Worst Mother of the Year -- a competitive award in a town where parents lock their kids in closets for weeks at a time.
You see, Tsinhnahijinnie also had her 14-month-old daughter in the pickup with her at the time of the collission -- and naturally, the kid wasn't in a child seat.
"The infant was found on the floor of the vehicle, underneath the dash, on the passenger side..." court records state.
The child will reportedly be okay. From the looks of Tsinhnahijinnie's mug shot, so will she. Barely a scratch on her face. And her old truck didn't even have an airbag.
