Felecia Rotellini's Gloves Off Now That David Lujan's Running for AG

• <p>BOTH candidates don't understand the A-G's job---or more likely are trying to demagogue like Thomas did when he ran against Terry Goddard. Both the lady and my former colleague Lujan (who DOUBLE-crossed me horribly--a story for another day) have acted like the AG prosecutes violent criminals. WRONG--they have no such jurisdiction. Their only CRIMINAL jurisdiction is white collar crimes and defending criminal appeals like death-penalty cases. The main job of the AG is to advise & represent state agencies---including All Superior Ct Judges & County probation officers who---for some strange reason ---ARE CONSIDERED state EMPLOYEES!!! <br /> DESPITE THE VICIOUS DOUBLE-CROSS, I KNOW & RESPECT LUJAN's legal abilities AND EXPECT TO VOTE FOR HIM</p>

• <p>Azresident, it shows that David Lujan can't raise money because people aren't enthusiastic about him or his campaign. Facebook friends are worth a bucket of cold spit if your campaign fails to catch the energy and excitement needed to win a primary.</p>

• <p>Rotellini's actual statement acknowledges Lujan as a conscientious legislature, while comparing their relevant experience to be AG. The NT article omits that to make the statement seem more controversial than it really was. The resume on her website reads like she's been preparing for AG her entire career (mortgage fraud task force, prosecuted Arthur Anderson, headed up Dept. of Financial Institutions, etc.) It seems Lujan's done honorable work on behalf of children but nothing to suggest the legal chops for navigating the justice system, prosecuting major cases, and directing legal teams. Seems pretty cut and dry to me. </p>

• <p>If Felicia Rotellini and David Lujan are reading this blog, perhaps they could answer this question from us fence-sitters:</p> <p>Q - If you were Attorney General now, and watching was is taking place in Maricopa County with Arpaio & Thomas, what would you do to restore civility and ensure that defendants and defense attorneys had fair hearings seeing the battle between MCSO, MCAO and the Judges??</p> <p>I would appreciate it if they posted their answer here for us to read.</p>

• <p>David Lujan's has undebatable experience prosecuting labor law violations. JasonPHX13, saying Lujan's got "no prosecutorial experience" clearly is what you would "think" to be a fact, but is, in actuality, a misrepresentation of his long history as a prosecutor. AND this kind of attack is definitely not required, nor is it particularly fraternal in the beginning of a primary where momentum needs to be built to take on Thomas or Horne. Instead of echoing misrepresentations of Lujan's credentials, lets look for more substantive criticisms from Rotellini in the future. </p>

• <p>-Concerned Citizen, Felecia wasn't resorting to personal attacks, she was saying the truth. David Lujan as no prosecutorial experience, I think that's a statement of fact and nothing more.</p>

• <p>Given what is at stake in 2010, I am disappointed in Felicia. We as Democrats need to stay away from personal attacks, and instead focus on the issues at hand. David Lujan has committed his career to fighting for those who need a voice: from defending children against child abuse, to writing legislation that cracks down on violent crime and identity theft, and prosecuting violators of labor law as a member of the National Labor Relations Board in Nevada, David has always stood up for those in need. Felicia's attacks are unfair, and fail to tell the whole story. As a supporter of David, I would be proud to compare David's record to Felicia's any day. </p> <p>David is the strongest candidate to take on Andrew Thomas or Tom Horne in the fall, and I cannot wait to help David win both the primary, and general elections.</p>

• <p>Spetember, using your logic, let's do the math</p> <p>On average, Lujan's 1,300 Facebook friends donated about $38 each.</p> <p>While Felecia's average Facebook friend donated about $500.</p> <p>I'd take Felecia friends over Lujan's lot any day.</p>

• <p>What kind of dope you hippies smoking. Lujan is Minority Leader but raised a paltry 50k. Some young buck in South "duck if you hear shots" Phoenix raised half of that for a legislative race. Furthermore, Lujan's time in the legislature harms more than it helps. Remember, the Legislature has a job approval rating below 30%, his "leadership" was instrumental in that.</p> <p>Rotellini wrapped this one up when Lujan admitted that he was switching to a "clean" candidacy. </p>

• <p>If you look at Felicia on facebook you can tell how FEW people actually support her cause and David has 1,300 people supporting him. Clearly Felicia isn't well liked and who could blame people when Felicia attacks like this from day 1.</p>

• <p>Rep. Lujan has been a great asset to Legislative District 15 and to the State House. He will be a great leader as our next AG. </p>

• <p>Rotellini is beginning this race is the worst way possible. She has nothing to show for her record in the political ring (becuase she has never had a job in politics). Instead of taking about her own credentials, she simply begins by attacking. Lujan has fought for Arizona for many years, for the people of Arizona. He has done this by prosecuting criminals, defending children against abuse as an attorney, slowing violent crime and identify theft through bills in the Legislature. <br /> In response, Lujan should be happy to compare his record against Rotellini who has nothing to show for how she would lead. Yes she has done good work at the attorney general's office but so has Lujan who also worked as an Assistant Attorney General. </p> <p>Lujan is clearly the one to beat in this race and Rotellini is simply afraid since she has no qualifications to run for state-wise office.</p>

• <p>A little digging by the New Times would reveal that after having an exploratory committee for a year, David Lujan raised barely $50,000 and when he realized he didn't have the guns to do fundraising, he converted to Clean Elections and had to give most of his money back. Anyone who know politics, knows the proof of whether a candidate has "got it" if whether he can raise money. No wonder Rotellini is being so tough on Lujan. He's that guy who ought to get out and unite his folks behind Rotellini and beat Andy Thomas!</p>

• <p>Lujan's effectiveness as a legislator has been minimal...I have serious doubts he would be an effective AG. Rotellini, however, looks like she has the experience for the job and won't back down from a fight...which she'll certainly have if Andrew Thomas is the Republican nominee. </p>
