A disabled train blocked traffic in the state Capitol area in west Phoenix this morning. The train, about 100 cars long, is sitting at the intersection of 19th Avenue and Buchanan. Police say it may take several hours to move, and are advising motorists to take an alternate route, such as Seventh Avenue, to the Capitol area...A nonprofit group called the Downtown Chandler Community Foundation plans to throw a Mardi Gras celebration in the city's historic square in February. Planned festivities include a jazz concert, a costume contest, and a Cajun buffet, but organizers say drinking won't be the focus of the event. The purpose is to raise funds for community services...A massive fire ravaged Glendale business Western Pallets Monday night. About 100 firefighters battled the blaze for five hours, and now investigators are looking into the cause of the fire. Crews battled another fire at the same plant about three years ago, and one firefighter was injured in that incident...

Prescott police say they've arrested an off-duty Yavapai County detention officer for multiple armed assaults at three bars on Montezuma Street. David Ashton, 43, has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly brandishing a gun at bar patrons. He's been placed on administrative leave from the YCSO...Phoenix police are searching for suspects after a shooting in south Phoenix last night. Four men were shot, and one has died. The shooting occurred near 29th street and Chipman, near Broadway, and police say the suspects are three Hispanic men in their 20s. Police don't know of a motive or any gang affiliations at this time...Capmark Finance Incorporated, the lender for the first phase of the CityNorth project, has filed foreclosure proceedings against the developers, claiming it's owed more than $290 million for the project. CityNorth was designed to be a retail and residential complex near Desert Ridge Marketplace, but the project has been abandoned by many retailers, and now may be the largest foreclosure proceeding in the state.
