The latest "happiness study" finds that Arizona is among the grinningist states in the entire country.

A few weeks ago, a similar survey determined that Arizona was the 10th-happiest state, but the latest study ranks Arizona at number five.

A new report from the University of Warwick in England and Hamilton College in the United States surveyed 1.3 million people across this country between 2005 and 2008, and based on climate, crime rates, air quality, and schools, Arizona is among the happiest.

The most shocking finding of the study is the state in the number-one spot: Louisiana.

Despite crime, corrupution, poverty -- and as Alec Baldwin refers to it: "rainstorm Katrina" --  folks along the bayou are the happiest in our nation. Maybe all that cajun food and partying on Bourbon Street make up for some of the hard times. Bon ton roulet!

The study finds that the most miserable state is New York.

Can you blame folks there? You'd probably be pissed off too if you had to listen to that Gotham accent everyday.
