Maybe if they just poke fun at her and make her feel bad. When she gets out she can just use more ; get busted again, and they can just put her in prison and forget about her. That would be allot more easy than dealing with the root of her problem and trying to help her. And if that works for them, then they won't ever even have to imagine what their own problems might be.
