A Valley mother working at a day-care center has lost her job after allegedly driving drunk with her baby in the car. Farren Romero, 26, was pulled over in Tempe on Tuesday night for driving without her headlights on. Officers say she failed several sobriety tests and was taken to jail for aggravated DUI...Two people were arrested in a SWAT standoff in Prescott Valley yesterday. Stephen Smith and Monique Smith were taken into custody after barricading themselves in their home. The couple were charged with several counts each, including resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, and child abuse...Nearly 50 firefighters responded to a blaze at a Mesa apartment complex this morning. Crews quickly brought the fire under control after finding it burning through the roof. Twelve people were displaced by the fire, and the cause was uncertain.
