Tovrea Castle got a makeover from UPS workers.
Firefighters are battling a huge blaze in a rural area outside Cave Creek. According to a spokesman for the fire department, the fire began around 6 a.m. in some debris around a mobile home, before spreading to the home itself. No injuries have been reported...More than 60 local UPS workers contributed their time to finish restoring Phoenix's iconic Tovrea Castle this weekend. As part of their annual Global Volunteer Month, UPS workers cleaned up trash and helped repair fences. The castle is expected to open to the public sometime this month...The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints owns 3,000 acres of land in the West Valley, near loop 303 and Peoria Avenue. A spokeswoman for the LDS Church says the land is being held for "investment purposes," but would not discuss specific plans for the land. Meanwhile, West Valley officials and real estate experts say the church has no plans to develop the land and will probably sell it to developers and home builders.
