During a healthcare debate in the U.S. House of Representatives last week, Arizona Congressman John Shadegg called in an expert to try and dissuade legislators from voting for the controversial healthcare bill that just narrowly passed in the house.

When we say expert, we mean a 7-month-old baby named Maddie.

"Maddie believes in freedom, Maddie likes America because we have freedom here," Shadegg said while using a sickening brand of baby-speak to talk on behalf of Maddie. "She asked to come here today to say she doesn't want the government to take over healthcare she wants to be able to keep her plan."

Shockingly, Maddie seemed more interested in a plastic key ring she was holding than a public option.

"Maddie knows that if this bill passes her moms healthcare goes away and won't be around in five years," Maddie said via-Shadegg. "Maddie wants patient choice; she doesn't want her mom's premiums to go up, she doesn't want her mom's taxes to go up."

The whole scene was about as uncomfortable to watch as Al and Tipper Gore's infamous smooch at the 2000 Democratic National Convention. The baby seemed to be on the verge of tears as Shadegg frantically shook and rocked her. Check it out here.

"She wants America's health insurance companies to have to compete with each other," Shadegg says.

Take one look at that kid -- all Maddie seems to want is to be put down.

Shadegg's office didn't return our call and Maddie declined comment because, well, she can't actually speak.
