Arizona Dems Lose Key Legislative Staffer

Former Democratic Staffer Mallory Hutchison

Democrats in the Arizona lLegislature will be short one key staffer as they head into election season and a potential special session.

Mallory Hutchison, the democratic legislative caucus director, will be leaving the party effective tomorrow.

Democratic Party spokeswoman Jennifer Johnson wouldn't comment on the reason behind the resignation because it is an "internal matter."

Johnson tells the Arizona Guardian and confirmed to New Times that the decision for Hutchison to leave the party staff was mutual.

Hutchison was a key elections strategist for the party, and Johnson says there is a plan to replace her but she doesn't know when that will happen.

She was a worthless employee. She wouldn't pay attention to you unless you had money or something that would benefit her. She wasn't a key anything other than key pain in the behind. The only people who liked her were the ones who's behind she kissed. I'd like to blame our failures in 08 on her, but the sad reality is she wasn't even that important. As someone who unfortunately had the displeasure of working with her, I can say what's written above is true. She has a vastly inflated opinion of herself and her value to the state party. Anyone could have done her job and much better than she did. Glad the free ride is over for you Mal.
That is hilarious! Good point, Mallory! (oh um I mean "B") I too worked with this menace in '08 and she used to brag all the time about how "honest and blunt" she was and how "many couldn't handle" it. Truth is, as being part of the operation for a short time, I saw her as a sad, self-important twenty two year old that was never told "NO". I sometimes cringed at the thought of how this would reflect on the candidates that were hoping to become elected Democrats.
I got the opportunity to work with Mallory for a few months last election cycle and she was a wealth of knowledge. She was always honest and blunt, which many couldn't handle, but most of us appreciate this about her. She's one of the hardest working women I have ever met.
I'm glad to see her go. She was no support for the candidates in the past elections. I didn't know that the party still had her on board.. I can't believe that my contributions were still paying for her salary. I almost wanna write a letter to the party to return my contributions back. I BLAME HER for the missteps in the last elections. The state legislative make up does not reflect the voter registration numbers nor the presidential elections results. She's a terrible organizer! Good Riddance !!!
