All schools in the Williams Unified School District will be closed today because of a fire burning near the city. The blaze, dubbed the Twin Fire, began Friday and scorched 1,000 acres by Sunday night. About 465 fire personnel are battling the blaze...A water line broke near 11th street and Broadway Road in Phoenix about 6:30 this morning, leaving residents with no water. There were no reports of flooded homes, and crews are working to fix the pipe, which they say will take 4-5 hours...School officials in Tucson say that over the last two months, 64 Apple and HP laptop computers have been stolen from classrooms. The most recent theft occurred at Cholla High School, where someone made off with 14 machines. Officials are planning to install surveillance cameras to prevent more thefts...

Despite bankruptcy woes, the Phoenix Coyotes won their season-opener against the Los Angeles Kings, 6-3. Goalie Ilya Bryzgalov had 30 saves and Radim Vrbata scored two goals to help lead the Coyotes to victory...Andy Richter, managing partner of Valley-based online marketing firm Terralever, died last Thursday in what friends call "an apparent suicide." A spokesman for the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's office said a report will be finished in the next 45 to 90 days. Meantime, the official cause or manner of Richter's death is unknown...In an historic precedent, the Federal Trade Commission voted 4-0 to require bloggers to disclose any freebies or payments they receive from companies for reviewing their products. Penalties include up to $11,000 in fines for each violation.
