A former Scottsdale Community College football player, who was a top junior college recruit, collapsed and died mysteriously at a friends home in Seattle, the Associated Press reports.

Tony Fein, 27, an Iraq War veteran and prospect for both the Baltimore Ravens and the Seattle Seahawks (he played linebacker for the Ravens during preseason), collapsed and began vomiting at about 9 a.m. yesterday. When rescue squads got to him, they say he was barely breathing.

Fein was taken to a Seattle hospital, where he ultimately died.

Fein joined the army when he was 19 and served in Iraq for more than two years as a 19 Delta reconnaissance scout.

When he left the Army, Fein enrolled at Scottsdale Community College in 2005, where he won junior college All-American honors and was ranked No. 2 nationally at his position.

After playing at SCC, Fein went on to play at Ole Miss, where he won the Pat Tillman Patriot Award.

He participated in the Baltimore Ravens training camp this year but didn't make the final cut.

Police say there is nothing to indicate foul play but an officer has been assigned to investigate the death because they say it seems suspicious.
