County Official: Court E-Mails Cannot Be Accessed by Sheriff's Office

• <p>Emails cannot be accessed through the machine, unless the folks using the machine saved them to the hard drive. If they did save the emails to the hard-drive then they went against County policy that forbids the practice. Email is kept on the Server that the Sheriff does not have access to.</p> <p>The Sheriffs office could not change the passwords either as they are protected and not accessible.</p> <p>This is what system Administrators do, they protect everyone from this. It would take an enormously high legal request, that would need to be approved by many officials to force a system administrator to break the trust.</p>

• <p>I am not buying it either.....why take laptops into a situation where password changes are being conducted. this smells to high heaven.......he couldn't get what he wanted the legal way so Joe flexed muscle and did it his way. He thinks he is totally above the law of the land and it smacks of dictatorship. Anyone ever thought about buying him a one way ticket to Cuba ( just a little humor here )<br /> Hats of to the New Times on staying current on what is happening in Maricopa County and literally putting their safety on the line because i am sure the response to one of their 911 calls to the Sheriff will be handled at a snails pace. Great to have people like these reporters around to help us and OBama in town too.....Joe's worst Nightmare must be coming true this week. i just love it when an event comes together. Maybe Obama can read at least about this ....smuggle a New Times into Air Force One.</p>

• <p>Be careful believing what you're hearing. This could easily be smoke and mirrors from the manager who doesn't really know, or won't tell what he really knows. </p> <p>If all of the systems are sharing a main frame, or being hosted on the same server, which is not uncommon, it's very possible that these guys who were in there could be accessing data bases. It just depends on how much they know and what their access codes and passwords might be.</p> <p>The fact that they apparently took laptops into the computer room to supposedly change passwords for the LE system sure doesn't make sense.... </p> <p>Personally, I am not buying this garbage for a second.</p> <p>The MCSO sheriff is mentally ill.</p>
