The Arizona Department of Economic Security is warning clients in DES' Early Intervention Program of possible identity theft. After two backup hard drives were stolen from a Phoenix storage facility last October, the department sent out 65,000 letters to warn people of identity theft. Ten thousand of them were returned as "undeliverable"...The Hoover Dam bypass bridge is expected to be complete in a month. The $14 million project was delayed for two years by harsh weather and hazardous working conditions, but the dam is now scheduled to open in 2010. Once completed, it will be "the longest concrete arch in the Western hemisphere"...Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi has been suspended for two games by the team, following her extreme DUI charge. Taurasi will miss Saturday's game against Detroit and next Wednesday's game against Minnesota. The Mercury are 11-4 this season and first place in the Western Conference...A suspect has been arrested in the robbery and assault of 94-year-old Phoenix woman Frances Stull. Shawn Edens, 38, was arrested by police on the heels of witness tips. Stull is expected to recover from her injuries...The U.S. Forest Service has temporarily closed the Reef Campground in the Huachuca Mountains because of black bear activity. Officials say the campground will be closed for two weeks while rangers clean up the food and garbage that attracted the bears...As of this writing, firefighters are battling an early-morning blaze at Marisco's seafood restaurant at 67th Avenue and Camelback Road. According to reports, smoke is coming from multiple places in the building.
